Dutch underground label Tiny Room Records, specializing in lo-fi, indie, slowcore, and bedroom folk, was founded 10 years ago. Label manager Stefan Breuer has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Voordekunst.nl to cover the costs of releasing a double album, Foundlings Vol. 1 & 2, with 25 unreleased tracks.

Dutch post-punk/math band Combo Qazam have posted an in concert video of them playing @ Letní Kino in Olomouc (Czech Republic) on May 1o this year. It is a niece companion piece for the Live in Central Europe 2022 Tour Documentary they posted earlier this year.

Dutch post-punk/math-rock band Combo Qazam go for repetitive, Krautrock inspired songs on their second album, Ghost Interior. This less-is-more approach pays off in spades. By going to the core and shaving off most of the trimmings - sometimes by getting rid of a single chord - they create a hypnotic flow - especially in the instrumentals - that is a little claustrophic, but catchy. Painting yourself in a corner is considered to be a bad idea, but Ab Al-Tamimi, Gino Miniutti, Arno Breuer and Stefan Breuer are blessed with seemingly limitless ideas to work within self-imposed boundaries.
Ghost Interior is an album that needs to be heard in full, in order to fully appreciate the recurring themes and get sucked into their musical universe. They name bands like Wire and Can as major influences, but there are nods to Sonic Youth and the Residents too. Don't be surprised when the quirky Sci-Fi excursion Ships or the hectic Crisis turn up in a movie to augment the mess the main character has to deal during that particular scene.

The band is the brainchild of four youngish veterans of the fertile greater Utrecht area. Ab Al-Tamimi, Gino Miniutti, Arno Breuer and Stefan Breuer have lost count, but claim to have 80 years of experience in 40 bands. They share an instant musical connection with the ability to switch tempo within the blink of an eye.

Dutch indie quartet Combo Qazam have unveiled a video for Logorrhea, the third single from their upcoming debut album Flight Music, out on May 20 via Tiny Room Records . Logorrhea is defined as "a tendency to extreme loquacity", in other words not being able to shut up while not saying much. Is it about the shallowness and fake realities on social media then? Yes, it is. The message is wrapped in an off-kilter mix of post-punk. Krautrock and dance, on top of a groove that you can dance to while contemplating the lyrics. The clip was made by Mark Jennings.

It's a dystopian song about wandering around in a city that is falling apart, with a propulsive rhythm that is both catchy and disorienting. Something is utterly wrong, but they don't offer disclosure about what is happening. Post-punk meets Krautrock and together they invite the listener to dance on the volcano.
