Fans of past recordings have been swept up in a sepia-toned world of tightrope walkers, two-bit prize fighters, Hollywood scream queens, presidential assassins, and frequent, inexplicable visits from Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon. The latest batch of songs finds the American landscape strangely silent. An unsettling calm has befallen the sweatshops, circus tents, burlesque houses, and punk rock dives. The once riot-torn streets of the New World have grown eerily calm. Something doesn’t feel right.

Amsterdam based art-rock band Labasheeda had to reschedule their special instant crowdfunding show at Zaal 100 in their hometown on May 16 for their new album. The venue was unusuable after some serious water damage. New date: June 6. The band will be joined by guest players - Ditmer Weertman (alto sax), Herman te Loo (tenor sax), and Renato Cannavacciuolo (double bass) - and a VJ. They will perforem two sets and the album can be purchased right there and then.

The Presidents Of The United States Of America: raising funds for vinyl release of self-titled debut album

Energetic rock trio The Presidents of the United States of America are no longer a working band, but they won't miss the opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled album. They have launches a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for a long overdue vinyl release (fact check: it was released on vinyl in Europe 1995 and by a label in Spain as well). Their home market had to make due with CD's and cassettes.

We are post-rock-band. While we remain friends and enjoy frequent lunches together, we have no label, no management, no infrastructure, no "team". That's OK though! We don't need any of that stuff!*** Thanks to INTERNET and whatnot the music is out there for anyone who wants to hear it (that's my vague understanding of INTERNET.)
