Peter Gabriel: i/o (Bright-Side Mix)
Peter Gabriel has released the Bright-Side Mix of i/o, the title track from his forthcoming new album. It is a power ballad that doesn't seem hit the spot at first, but it is a grower: "This month the song is i/o and i/o means input / output. You see it on the back of a lot of electrical equipment and it just triggered some ideas about the stuff we put in and pull out of ourselves, in physical and non-physical ways. That was the starting point of this idea and then trying to talk about the interconnectedness of everything".

Peter Gabriel has added more dates to his North American tour: Washington D.C., Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Palm Springs, Denver, Austin, Dallas and Houston. Deep pockets are needed for a half-decent seat.

Peter Gabriel: The Court (Dark-Side Mix)
Peter Gabriel has released the second new single from his new album i/o. The Court has a dystopian feel, harking back to the sound of his third and fourth solo albums, when rhythm became the main force of his songs.
I had this idea for ‘the court will rise’ chorus, so it became a free-form, impressionistic lyric that connected to justice, but there’s a sense of urgency there. A lot of life is a struggle between order and chaos and in some senses the justice or legal system is something that we impose to try and bring some element of order to the chaos. That’s often abused, it’s often unfair and discriminatory but at the same time it’s probably an essential part of a civilised society. But we do need to think sometimes about how that is actually realised and employed.
The Court (Dark-Side Mix) is released via Real World Records.

Peter Gabriel: new single "Panopticom"
The long wait is over. Peter Gabriel has unveiled a new single, Panopticom, his first original material since the release of the UP album in 2002. The song will be included on his upcoming new album i/o.
The first song is based on an idea I have been working on to initiate the creation of an infinitely expandable accessible data globe: the Panopticom. We are beginning to connect a like-minded group of people who might be able to bring this to life, to allow the world to see itself better and understand more of what’s really going on
His voice is in fine shape, long-time collaborator Tony Levin is on bass, but the biggest coup is getting Brian Eno on boards, performing bells and haunting synths. The track is released via Real World Records.

Peter Gabriel: new album " i/o"; European tour

Peter Gabriel will release his new album i/o next year, his first new studio album since Up in 2002. He will promote it with an extensive European arena tour. Tickets are going to be bloody expensive though. Expect to pay 150 euros/pounds for a subpar seat, where you will need binoculars to see the action on stage.

Peter Gabriel: Rated PG reissue
The Peter Gabriel album Rated PG was released as a limited-edition picture-disc LP for Record Store Day in 2019. The album collects songs he wrote for soundtracks. It quickly sold out, but it will become available again in June:
On 12 June, we will finally release the CD and black vinyl edition of Rated PG.
We know many of you have been wondering where this release has been, but much like the ‘Book of Love’ the reasons for the delay are long and boring. Suffice to say, we’re sorry for the wait.

Peter Gabriel: Live in Verona
Peter Gabriel has posted pro-shot videos of his show @ Arena di Verona, Verona, Italy on September 26, 2010 to raise money to fight the virus in Italy (or to donate money locally). The show was filmed by his daughter Anna and Andrew Gaston, but was never released officially:
For almost fifty years I have loved Italy, the people, the culture, the food, the history and more recently the island of Sardinia.
Italy offered us work when there was none, especially each summer in the 70s, gigs were always found and some of our best and most chaotic tour experiences were when we were driving ourselves all over the country for a hodge-bodge of brilliant gigs, from seaside discos to football pitches in the mountains.
Both Genesis and my music found wonderful and passionate audiences that used to sing along with us throughout the gigs and whenever I was doing a live album I would always ask first whether it could be arranged in Italy.

On 15 September 1978, Peter Gabriel was recorded live at Grugahalle, Essen in Germany for the now legendary Rockpalast TV programme. We’ve recently been granted the rights to use the footage, so we will be adding tracks from the performance to Peter’s You Tube channel over the next few weeks.

With the first album I’d just left Genesis and had been used to having roles defined, and so suddenly to find myself in a studio full of serious musicians (serious in terms of their ability and what they’d done and so on) was unnerving.

Phish covers Genesis at the 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony
Phish played to Genesis songs at the 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in New York: Watcher of The Skies and No Reply At All (with a three piece horn section). The vocals need some work.
The award was presented last night to the British prog pioneers by Trey Anastasio. No sign of Peter Gabriel ...
