Belgian noise rockers Thot have put out a new single, #XVNM. The two tracks, (Never) Never Again Land and I Need(ed) Much More, are re-recordings from their 2005 debut release The Huffed Hue. The new versions blow the old ones out of the water, packing an intensity and urgency that was only hinted at back then.
#XVNM is released as an extremely limited 7" vinyl single through the band's website.
Belgian noise rockers Thot share another track from their upcoming full-length The City that Disappears. Dédale is downright dark, sounding like it has been lifted from the soundtrack for an obscure cyberpunk movie.

The two deconstructions of Rhythm.Hope.Answers are less memorable. The Imaginary War Remix sounds like a discarded demo of the Sisters of Mercy.

Belgian noise experimentalists Thot went on a scavenger hunt for the off-beat sounds on their new EP The Fall of the Water Towers, six slow tracks with found sounds, eerie keyboards, gentle piano and a dry acoustic guitar. It's a far cry from their previous louder output, but they have kept the ambient post-rock atmosphere. Most tracks are instrumentals, although special guest Colin H van Eeckhout delivers a great spoken word vocal on Grueenn.
Pastoral, but with danger lurking in the shadows, this EP will be welcomed by fans of Can, Throbbing Gristle and Sonic Youth.
