Les Claypool has his work cut out for him with the announcement of the Claypool Gold '26 US tour. Each night his three bands - Primus, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and The Frog Brigade will be on stage in shapeshifting order. Things will be weird and unexpected for sure.
The Claypool Lennon Delirium have just released a new single, WAP, a chugging psychedelic rocker. It is their first new music since the release of their South of Reality album in 2019.
Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade have added ten more dates to their tour. Dubbed the Hunt For Green October they will resume touring in Oakland on October 11. They will perform two sets, including on ePink Floyd's album Animals in its entirety.
It's been 20 years since Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade hit the road, but now they are back for the Summer of Green Tour. It is a big one - 41 shows some of them with as co-headliners with Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew's Remain In Light project. The 2023 version of the Frog Brigade consists of Les Claypool (bass), Sean Lennon (guitar), Harry Waters (keys), Paulo Baldi (drums), Mike Dillon (percussion), and Skerik (horns).
Les Claypool‘s Bastard Jazz will perform @ Orpheum Theater in New Orleans (April 28) and @ Yoshi’s in Oakland (early and late shows - July 25-26). The Primus bass player is joined on stage by drummer Stanton Moore, percussionist Mike Dillon and saxophonist Skerik.

Alt-funk rock superband Oysterhead return to Bonnaroo as part of their reunion shows. Bassist Les Claypool (Primus), guitarist Trey Anastasio (Phish) and drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police) last appearred at the Manchester, TN festival in 2006.

Mr Wright is a little less weird, leaning to the off-kilter funk of Primus.

I’ve always said that bass is the crayon I picked out the box. I’d still be drawing the same picture if I picked up guitar or whatever, but it’d look a little different because it’d be another crayon. For me, it’s how I express myself sonically—that and my voice— in the easiest manner: 4-string bass. It’s a little more of a wrassle with 6-string, but 4-string, I can just pick it up and shit comes out. I don’t even have to think about it.
