American country noir musician Jim White and UK singer and photographer Trey Blake have joined forces for a new album, Precious Bane, due for release on January 31. They will be on tour in The Netherlands, Belgium and the UK to promote it, with Belgian musicians Geert Hellings (guitar) and Nicolas Rombouts (bass).

I’m making a new record here. It’s filled with all I have to offer, both in words and music. At this point the project is about half done and to cut to the chase, I’m not much for planning ahead particularly when it involves money. I was storming my way through this musical journey when I just just flat ran out of resources. I’d hoped to keep things simple and fund the record by myself, but my life savings have dwindled down to nothing and the project is far from complete.

They have been playing a couple of shows to road test the songs. The Sawyer Sessions EP, offered as a free download via Noisetrade, contains three song frrm their first ever live show The Station in Carrboro, NC plus two recorded at a - you guessed it - Sawyer Sestion in Hillsborough, NC. Great Americana storytelling with a twist.
