Dutch underground label Tiny Room Records, specializing in lo-fi, indie, slowcore, and bedroom folk, was founded 10 years ago. Label manager Stefan Breuer has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Voordekunst.nl to cover the costs of releasing a double album, Foundlings Vol. 1 & 2, with 25 unreleased tracks.
Six years after the release of their split 7" single Bonnie 'Prince' Billy & broeder Dieleman have teamed up for a follow-up. On May 21 Love is the first law (a translation of Dieleman's De Liefde is de Eerste Wet) backed by There are worms in your circle will be released via Snowstar Records. The paper cut-art cover is made by Broeder Dieleman, inspired by the works of 19th artist Jan Huijszoon, better known as Jan de Prentenknipper. Like Huijzoon he is now selling them to make a bit of money during lockdown.
Every now and then a very special release sees the light day. Key ingredients for this one: a "major" cult artist and a bunch of musicians with some local notoriety, joining forces to create and share some new and exciting music. O, and limited supply is a must, making it instant collectors item. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy takes up one side of a brand new 7", with longtime fan, musician and webmaster of his fan site Leo Meijer playing bass of Dutch indie super group Naked Shortsellers (with members of The Fire Harvest en This Leo Sunrise) on the other side. the two have met regularly over the years and have become friends. The single release coincides with 20th anniversary of the fan site.
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy only needs his voice and guitar The Best of Folks, urging the listener to make amends and not carry unfounded grudges. Harbour Men by Naked Shortsellers has a dark country rock feel with singer Daniël Papen's bass/baritone range leading the way before handing the mike to Oldham for a chorus of his own. Jacco van Elst brings it home with some great lapsteel.

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy & broeder Dieleman are sharing a 7" for Record Store Day. Billy translated Gloria into English. Dieleman turned Three Questions into Drie Vragen. Folk music doesn't care about borders or language barriers. Kindred spirits will find a way to connect and collaborate. After sharing the stage on an acoustic tour of 8 Dutch church they kept in touch. The decision to cut a shared single was a no-brainer. It is an intense and gentle token of a transatlantic musical kinship. Fingers crossed for a follow-up in the near future.

Dutch indie label Snowstar Records has a special treat for Record Store Day: a Bonnie 'Prince' Billy & broeder Dieleman split 7":
On April 18th it's record store day 2015. In honour of this year's record store day we present the extended collaboration between our own broeder Dieleman and folk legend Bonnie 'Prince' Billy.
In 2014 they did a fully sold out tour of 8 Dutch churches, all shows were played entirely acoustically. This unique tour was sold out within the hour, a great succes which both artists felt was deserving of a follow-up.
For record store day they will be releasing a split 7" for which Bonnie 'Prince' Billy translated 'Gloria' into English. Broeder Dieleman covered 'Three Questions" in his distinct Zealandic dialect.
To celebrate the 7" (and his birthday!) broeder Dieleman will play in-stores on April 18th, followed by an Molenpark De Ster in Utrecht, hosted by EKKO.
Limited release: 1000 copies for the Benelux and 1000 copies for the US.
