Black Country Communion: Enlighten

Hard-hitting blues rockers Black Country Communion sneaked in quite a bit of prog into Enlighten, the third single for their new album BCC V, due for release on June 14th via Mascot Records. Glenn Hughes still has the impressive range to bring it home and Joe Bonammassa can unleash his inner Jimmy Page.

Black Country Communion: Stay Free

Hard-hitting blues rockers Black Country Communion are back with Stay Free, the lead single for their new album BCC V, due for release on June 14th via Mascot Records. Joe Bonamassa lays down a rock solid guitar part that has "fist-pumping anthem" written all over it. And yes, Glenn Hughes can still hit those high notes.

Black Country Communion: Live Over Europe

Hard hitting blues rockers Black Country Communion were on tour in Europe in the Summer of 2011. Three shows in Germany (Hamburg, Munich and Berlin) were filmed with 14 HD cameras. Live Over Europe sees them playing up a storm, playing 16 songs songs from their two studio albums, a Joe Bonamassa solo song (The Ballad Of John Henry) and Burn, a Deep Purple cover. Bass player and lead singer has every right to do so - he played and sang on the original way back in 1974.

The seeds for Black Country Communion were sown when Hughes ran into guitar player Joe Bonamassa in Sao Paolo in 1999. They jammed occasionally over the years, nothing serious, but when drummer Jason Bonham and keyboard player Derek Sherinian joined in at the suggestion of producer Kevin Shirley things kinda snowballed. They quickly laid down the songs for a debut album and hit the road. All four are busy guys, but they obviously enjoyed the sessions and subsequent tour and so they decided to do it again this year, after they had released their sophomore album "2".

Black Country Communion: "2"

The second Black Country Communion album is simply named "2". The heavy blues rock supergroup has turned into a real band, not just a side-project. Four individuals have melted into one, sharing a love for Seventies rock - it doesn't hurt that bass player and singer Glenn Hughes was already at large then, playing in Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.

For the second effort the band allows the tracks to breathe - some of them are over six minutes long. Guitar player Joe Bonamassa steps up to the microphone to handle the vocals for acoustic guitar driven Battle For Hadrian’s Wall and An Ordinary Son. Keyboard player Derek Sherinian is more prominent in the mix and Jason Bonham is a hard-hitting drummer who can lay down rock solid beats and enhance the drive of a song by leaping over the bar with gusto.

Black Country Communion: free "Outsider" download

Black Country Communion offer a free track from their new album "2". Outsider is a fast paced heavy rock number.

Drummer Jason Bonham brought a discarded Led Zeppelin track to the sessions. He worked on Save Me with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, The song should have seen the light after the 2007 reunion show at the O2 Arena in London, but Robert Plant showed no interest in collaborating. BCC bass player/vocalist Glenn Hughes completed the arrangement and wrote the lyrics.

The album will be released in the UK and Europe on June 13th via Mascot Records, and June 14th in the U.S. on the J&R Adventures label. The limited edition digipack is available for pre-order now, and includes hand-written liner notes from each member of the band, plus exclusive photographs.
