Under A Banner: "Close to the Clouds" PledgeMusic campaign

UK acoustic folk rock band Under A Banner have launched a PledgeMusic campaign to raise funds for their new album Close to the Clouds:

Our second album is here. We’ve poured our hearts, souls and creative sparks into this one …. for you, our fans! This album features songs about mountains, politics, belief (and disbelief), motorbikes, departure, politics, nature in all its fearful magnificence and several more lyrical themes.

In total (for those of you who opt for the bonus track package) we’ve recorded 14 brand new songs. We have heard the final versions and are very proud of what we’ve achieved.

We’ve been as creative with the exclusives we’re offering as we have with the writing and recording of the album. We really hope you approve of it all.

Under A Banner: Free Live Bootleg #2 & #3

Acoustic folk rock band Under A Banner are offering two new live EPs. Like Free Live Bootleg #1 the songs are from their show at the Newhampton Arts Centre in their hometown Wolverhampton on November 29, 2013.

A few tracks from their The Ragged Rhythm of Rain album get an outing on #2 while three new songs can be found on #3 as well as an off-kilter medley of Walk Like An Egyptian (The Bangles) > Jolene (Dolly Parton) > Ready Or Not Here I Come (The Delfonics by way of The Fugees) > Stand and Deliver (Adam & The Ants). Some of the new songs need some work. The drums on It's Here are a bit off and the most promising new tune It's Spirit feels a bit rushed.

Acoustic folk rock band Under A Banner are offering a new live EP. Recorded at the Newhampton Arts Centre in their hometown Wolverhampton on November 29, 2013 the quartet played up a storm. Imagine a mash-up of Spear of Destiny and The Levellers.

Under A Banner: "Some Stories" video, proceeds for "Help for Heroes"

Wolverhampton rock duo Under A Banner are releasing Some Stories as a charity single on May 4th, donating all proceeds to UK veterans organisation Help for Heroes.

After a couple of false starts when trying to create a video for the song, they called in the skills of a talented team of undergraduates and post-graduates from their local university.

Under A Banner: The Ragged Rhythm of Rain

Adam J Broadhurst & Jonathan Millington are Under A Banner, a Wolverhampton based duo with a penchant for melodic acoustic rock that packs a punch. On their debut album The Ragged Rhythm of Rain they sing about football (This Is England Now), retired soldiers (Some Stories) and of course the English countryside (Sunburst and Back to the Sea.

Good old-fashioned story-telling never goes out of style. With their modern folk rock they should be able to make some waves in the club circuit. They are both multi-instrumentalists, which enables them to create a layered and rich sound at a shoestring budget.
