Amber Kamminga: Name On It

Dutch country singer Amber Kamminga is slowly gravitating to a more poppy sound. Her latest single Name On It is about serendipity - basically the occurrence of a happy incident. Working up the nerve to talk to someone is never easy, but she is obviously glad she did. She slows down for the middle-eight, before going into a celebratory mood to showcase her impressive vocal range.

Amber Kamminga: 3AM

Dutch country singer Amber Kamminga provides the soundtrack for lying awake in the middle of the night with her new single 3AM. Co-written with Dave Neijsen she sings about all the mistakes and how to make amends in a relationship. With multi-layered vocals and soft-spoken acoustic guitar the anger and grief about being wronged hit hard. She does not have to leash out to make her feelings crystal clear.

Amber Kamminga: Name Of Love

Dutch country singer Amber Kamminga released a superb debut EP in 2017. Her new single Name Of Love is more pop-oriented, with lush backing vocals and crunchy keyboards. Her voice is her weapon of choice, powerful with just a hint of twang to appease the early adapters.

Kamminga is expanding her musical palette, emboldened by her regular trips to Nashville, playing live and hooking up with like-minded musicians to work on new songs as a team. Country remains the core, bug it can 't hurt to wander off to other genres that fit her phrasing. It might get her a bigger audience, something she really deserves.

Amber Kamminga: Star-Crossed Lovers

Country lovers should be thankful to whomever caused the wrath of Dutch country singer Amber Kamminga. Her debut EP Star-Crossed Lovers is a blend of soul-searching and real anger, caused by a relationship that didn't work out. lead single Getting To Know You took a humorous swipe at Tinder dates, but she is not joking when she calls the unnamed protagonist a Liar and she is now actually Fine Without You.

Kamminga sings like she was born and raised in Nashville - crystal clear with a slight twang. She is the kind of artist who gets up quickly after being hurt, ready to retaliate through her music.

HCTF review of Getting To Know You.

Amber Kamminga: Getting To Know You

Amber Kamminga, a Dutch country singer, ups the ante on her second single Getting To Know You. To love a genre that is quintessentially American is one thing, the ability to write a track that can stand its ground is another and she pulled it off admirably. Her happy-sad vocals are a perfect fit for telling a tale about a bunch of not particularly successful tinderdates.

Amber Kamminga: guitar, vocals
Dave Neijsen: electric guitar
Pascal Keyner: bass
Jasper Schalks: banjo
Daan Moerkens: drums

Getting To Know You is a self-released single. Buy it from iTunes.
