A bunch of early Jorma Kaukonen recordings get a Black Friday release (November 28). Wabash Avenue, named after the address he was living at in San Jose, contains material that he laid down in 1965 on a reel to reel recorder. It will be available as a 2LP (2000 copies) and CD (1000 copies). And yes, Embryonic Journey is the instrumental that would be revisited for inclusion up on Jefferson Airplane's second album Surrealistic Pillow.
Tracks:
Come Back Baby | San Francisco Bay Blues | Kansas City Blues | In The Morning Blues | Follow The Drinking Gourd | Lower Depths | Embryonic Journey | Dime For A Beer | Twelve Gates To The City | Late In The Evening | Keep On Truckin' Mama | Lord I'll Be With You Always | Nine Pound Hammer | Search My Heart | 15 1/2 Blues | Blood-Strained Banders | Poor Ellen Smith | Whinin' Boy | Lullaby
Plus an interview conducted by his wife Vanessa (who found the recordings).
