Jumble Hole Clough: I Can Name The Un-named Boy

After immersing himself in mostly ambient instrumental musings Colin Robinson now returns to the off-kilter Captain Beefeart meets the guys from Can and Neu! at the Mad Hatter's tea party weirdness on I Can Name The Un-named Boy, the latest album from his one-man avant-garde project Jumble Hole Clough. Daredevils will try to dance to it, which will surely confuse people in no small way.

As a musician Robinson is always fully prepared to fully every whim and in this case he even tries to explain his modus operandi with spoken word and tongue-in-cheek singing bits. Dadaesque tidbits clash with funk and there is even a slice of jazzy gospel in The Harrying Of The North. The much missed late Richard Knutson can be heard during Insomniac. Fans of his skewed instrumentals will be pleased to have not one but two more of his Friday 13th pieces, so named because he recorded them on that date.

Robinson's musical restlessness keeps him going and his albums only scratch the surface of the huge amount music that he creates in his workshop. I Can Name The Un-named Boy is his third album this year and he shows no sign of slowing down.

I Can Name The Un-named Boy is a self-released album. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.
