The You And Me Ensemble: Through The Forests and Into the Fields

London band The You And Me Ensemble is basically a musical roundabout wih composer and multi-instumentalist Chris Read in the center. read plays all instruments and employed two different singers for the short debut album Through The Forests and Into the Fields. Kristy London sings on three of the tracks and Marcin Pasak takes care of just one.

It is a soundtrack looking for a film, with impromptu snippets and instrumentals as well as grandeur (Hymn to Her) and melodic indie pop (Open Letters). Wit a running time of al little over 18 minutes none of the eight tracks has clamor for attention. Soft-spoken and compelling The You And Me Ensemble is a concept that can serve as a canvas for Read's versatile composing skills. This debut is an album that taps the listener ever so gently on his shoulder.
