Dogs and Bones are an old school bluesy rawk trio from Los Angeles, the kind of band that will never fill stadiums but that turn an out-of-the-way haunt into a sweaty mosh pit. The sound of their self-titles album is a few notches above a rough demo, with a live feel with a rather good dry drum sound. The players have been working the on the LA live circuit for longer than they care to remember before teaming up for a psychedelic surf blues rock blizzard.
It's all basic as hell - a trip down memory lane of late Sixties / early Seventies hooks and licks that fail to go out of style.
Dogs and Bones:
Duke "The Duke" Carpenter: bass
Phil Cohen: drums, vocals
Greig McRitchie: guitar, vocals
Dogs and Bones is a self-released album. Buy it from the band's website.
