Blind Pilot: 3 Rounds and a Sound

Sparse and luxurious at the same time. That's 3 Rounds and a Sound, an album by Portland duo Blind Pilot. With acoustic guitar and drums augmented with some keyboards, violin, horns and accordeon this is the kind of music that tastes like good cup of coffee. You can put tons of tags on these guys, but they sound first and for all like a great indie folk band.

They took the concept of a green tour to the limit, using bicycles to transport themselves between gigs - the gear stashed in two bike trailers marked "Blind" and "Pilot". They went through a huge stack of EPs in no time, selling them after the gigs. The road proved to be an inspiration for 3 Rounds and a Sound. Recommended if you like Band of Horses, The OaKs and Butane Variations.

Israel Nebeker: vocals, guitar
