Anil Prasad interviewed the members of avant-prog trio Stick Men for his Innerviews website. Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto and Markus Reuter talk about their new album Let's THRAK Again, upon which counterrhythms are revisited. The album is available in two distinct mixes and different running orders. Reel One was sequenced by Levin and mixed by Stefano Castagna and Reel Two was sequenced by Mastelotto and Reuter and mixed by Fabio Trentini.
American indie-pop quintet Gentle Brontosaurus have made their Three Hares full-length available as a very limited (50 copies) vinyl album: "introverted, melancholic songs about hopes and dreams they had as kids, before the realities of having to arrange proper dental care and death in the family came barging in. That does not mean that they have given up. If anything, indulging in rich poetic imagery that goes way beyond run of the mill love songs - headless torsos, astronomy, tarot cards, cremation to name a few - and baroque pop arrangements can keep the outside world at bay for a little while longer".
Denver Balkan folk inspired band DeVotchKa will be on the road in Mexico, Europe and the US, culminating in a two-night stand for Halloween at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO for their 8th Annual Costume Ball shows.

In The Shadow of Forests is my debut 12 track album, composed and produced by me. It’s a mixture of songwriting, ambient textures, and field recordings from different locations across the UK & Europe. I’ve combined these with uniquely textured electronic layers, live instruments and voice, creating a record that’s reflective, atmospheric, cinematic and my most personal work to date.
Dutch indie rock band Hister keep it close to home with shows in Winschoten and Groningen. They sing in their local tongue, a version of the Low Saxon dialect spoken in their hometown Groningen, but their musical language - punk and New Wave, and gnarly Nineties alternative rock, is universal: "Think The Cure meets Dinosaur Jr, with both of them on steroids".
