UK post-grunge trio Whales In Cubicles are back on track with their new single Golden Metal. After the disappointing Wax & Feathers they have resurrected their wall of sound. A bit of Replacements guitar topped off with Radiohead production values (albeit on a shoestring budget).

Whales In Cubicles: Wax & Feathers

London based post-grunge trio Whales In Cubicles have made a video for their new single Wax & Feathers. It tkes awhile for the song to take off, starting out as a power ballad before picking up speed after one minute. High brow lyrics too. Still, it's a bit of a disappointment, lacking the sense of urgency of their previous effort Disappear. A song mentioning Icarus should at least try to fly.

Whales In Cubicles: Disappear

Remember grunge? London rock band Whales In Cubicles does and their new single Disappear sounds like it was recorded in the early nineties, with wavering guitar lines and in-your-face vocals. Slightly over the top, but that's a given for a rock anthem. The video depicts the "boy-meets-girl and shit happens" story line.

They might get into trouble when they play it this loud in the tiny venues on their upcoming tour.
