Anglo-French melancholic pop trio The Gentle Spring have two shows coming up in July to promote their debut album Looking Back At The World: "They know perfectly well that there is no fine and dandy place like Sugartown, but a bit of daydreaming never hurt anybody. Cherishing the little things in life enables people to cope and humming along to these carefully crafted indie pop songs is surely near the top of the list."

English musician Michael Hiscock once was a member of the much loved indie band The Field Mice, a group that gave cult label Sarah Records some well-deserved notoriety. In one of those rare occassions when lightning strikes twice, he once again teamed up like minded musicians, in Paris this time, for a new melancholic pop outfit, The Gentle Spring.

On their debut album Looking Back At The World, an introspective perspective is key. Reminiscing about love affairs that did not last, doesn't hurt as much anymore (The Girl Who Ran Away) and it is alright to escape from everyday's troubles by following a cricket match between England and Australia (The Ashes).

They know perfectly well that there is no fine and dandy place like Sugartown, but a bit of daydreaming never hurt anybody. Cherishing the little things in life enables people to cope and humming along to these carefully crafted indie pop songs is surely near the top of the list.
