Roots rockers Railroad Earth stepped by The Manhattan Center in New York to play a couple of songs and discuss the new album for Paste Magazine. They played The Great Divide (a tribute to the late RRE multi-instrumentalist Andy Goessling), Slippin’ Away, and All For The Song, the title track from the new record.

Warren Haynes w/ Railroad Earth: stream "Company Man" from new album "Ashes and Dust"
Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) shares Company Man from his new album Ashes and Dust He teamed up with roots folkies Railroad Earth for this foray into Americana. From Billboard:
It's a song about Haynes' father, which he wrote several years ago and then revised after "kind of interviewing him to make sure that all the facts were accurate" during a trip to New Orleans. "My dad grew up working in a grocery store for 23 years and then the company was gonna close down in the southeast," Haynes recalls. "They said they could relocate him to the West Coast or Northeast or Midwest or something, but he wasn't into it. That's not where his roots were. He didn't want to move his whole family. So he said no and started over and got a job in a factory where kids had more seniority than him. To me it's just a true Southern tale of someone who lived their life by his own standards. He has a lot of conviction, and I've always admired him for it."

Warren Haynes w/ Railroad Earth: "Front And Center" on US TV
On February 3rd this year Warren Haynes and Railroad Earth teamed up for a Front and Center show @ The McKittrick Hotel in NYC. It will be broadcasted this Summer on various networks in the USA. Haynes:
It was a really special opportunity to play in such an intimate space in front of such an attentive yet enthusiastic audience. The McKittrick Hotel’s speakeasy vibe seemed to work perfectly with both the solo material at the beginning of the show and, later, when I was accompanied by Railroad Earth.

Railroad Earth: Amen Corner

Every band starts out banging out tunes at home. Railroad Earth has gone full circle and set up their instruments at songwriter Todd Sheaffer’s 300-year old farmhouse in the rural New Jersey countryside to lay down the tracks for their new album Amen Corner. The results are warm and crisp recordings, all songs bouncing off the walls in a way that will cost you plenty to emulate in a studio.
Amen Corner is an essential addition to your Americana collection. Railroad Earth have carefully honed their chops on the road and recording at home has giving them the opportunity to build their songs in a relaxed environment. It might be recognized as their Exile on Main St without the drugs in years to come. An they have a secret weapon: Andy Goessling, a multi-instrumentalist who can tackle more stuff than most other bands put together.
