Prints Jackson: ‘Til Death Do Us Part

UK pop artist Prints Jackson has put up the final episode of "one new song each month till the day I die" project. ‘Til Death Do Us Part is a ballad that asks a lot questions, but offers no answers.

And don’t you ever wonder what makes up the universes soul for I don’t see it in the people who think they have control and I’ve come to ask ‘where do I finish and you start ?

‘Til Death Do Us Part is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Do the Feynmanr.

January 26, 2017

Prints Jackson: Do the Feynman

UK pop artist Prints Jackson takes on quantum electrodynamics and the Manhattan Project in Do the Feynman, episode 35 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. It's a high energy track, delivered with distorted vocals, about having serious doubts about the use of science as part of the war effort.

So for Manhattan I’ll do all I can _ project myself _ split uranium and from Manhattan I should have ran _ protect yourself _ Do the Feynman!

Do the Feynman is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

Prints Jackson: Reindeer Reindeer

UK pop artist Prints Jackson snaps at Trump, Brexit and more in Reindeer Reindeer, episode 34 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. Quite refreshing to hear an opinionated holiday song for a change. Inviting guest vocalist Bodhi Bean Williams was a smart move too.

Sweet baby Jesus what with Brexit ? it’s hard to have faith when the president’s a sexist do we still pretend he’s a circus clown?

Reindeer Reindeer is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of The Tallest Woman on Earth.

November 12, 2016

Prints Jackson: The Tallest Woman on Earth

UK pop artist Prints Jackson heads out to the circus with The Tallest Woman on Earth, episode 33 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. He tells the tale of a guy, who falls head over heals for a woman and can't believe his luck when she likes him too. Or it might be an illusion after all.

I’m not fit to moonwalk I’ve got my tallest women on earth. And say now you led me here I was sucked in by the osmosis of your eyes and does hope only exist when logic disappears ? and behind it all sits a cannonball marked ‘surprise’.

The Tallest Woman on Earth is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Balancing Sasuke.

Prints Jackson: Balancing Sasuke

UK pop artist Prints Jackson goes for a simple dance rock song with Balancing Sasuke, episode 32 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. The Eighties are all over it and he thought it would be cool to add a few kids singing a bit on it too. Young parents, who have recently mortgaged up their lives, will love it.

Balancing Sasuke is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

Prints Jackson: I am Providence

UK pop artist Prints Jackson has written a song a about H.P.Lovecraft. : I am Providence, episode 31 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, combines sexual innuendo . The video is a mashup of hysterical Maharishi Mahesh Yogi followers fans and Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark.

HCTF review of Sail on Phaelon.

August 10, 2016

Prints Jackson: Sail on Phaelon

UK pop artist Prints Jackson once again called in outside help. Sail on Phaelon, episode 30 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, features Jim Ward and Gabe Gonzalez, members of alt-country rock band Sleepercar. It's an in-your-face song, with rather prominent backing vocals. He is going for an anthem on this one, but his voice just isn't made for arena-sized rawk songs. The video uses quite a bit of footage from the Storm Boy movie, which also inspired the cover art painted by Richard James Oliver.

Sail on Phaelon is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Summer Assaults.

July 11, 2016

Prints Jackson: Summer Assaults

UK pop artist Prints Jackson keeps it close to home with Rachell Morgan Jackson acting as guest vocalist on Summer Assaults, episode 29 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. It comes close to rap before taking a sharp left into detuned dance madness, with plenty of vocal effects. Too mellow for the ravers, but it could be sneaked into the set of a DJ looking for a song outside the ordinary to spice up his afterparty set.

Summer Assaults is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of The Weather Girl.

June 09, 2016

Prints Jackson: The Weather Girl

UK pop artist Prints Jackson has a crush on The Weather Girl, episode 28 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. It's his first foray into acoustic folk. That's a good choice - the rather nifty wordplay gets the attention it deserves:

The weather girl says our forecast is bright
but the weathered girl brings me frost overnight
and if the air is rising up to a front that’s cold and sheer
then may the morning bring it’s lightning rods to pop this atmosphere
and oh my love cant spend all my life thinking
something’s wrong does this seem all right?
I don’t know what it means in Fahrenheit.

The Weather Girl is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Open the Sky.

May 11, 2016

Prints Jackson: Open the Sky

UK pop artist Prints Jackson's new single Open the Sky, episode 27 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, is a return to form after last month's clunker. A dance rock anthem heavy on Eighties references on top of a crispy, foot-tapping inducing bass line. Tongue-in-cheek stuff that works like a charm.

The accompanying video is a mash-up of footage from Top Gun and Ferris Bueller Day Off.

Open the Sky is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Wear Ya Bean Son.

April 13, 2016

Prints Jackson: Wear Ya Bean Son

UK pop artist Prints Jackson's new single Wear Ya Bean Son, episode 26 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, is a bit of letdown. He became a father recently and is adamant to share his happiness with the rest of the world. It isn't a sugarcoated love song, but it isn't particularly good either. Sleep deprivation ruined his vocal chords and the mix is off. Set aside a couple of hours to get rid of those flaws and bad notes and his kid won't feel embarrassed about his fathers output in the near future.

Wear Ya Bean Son is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Calliope Fuxwar.

March 18, 2016

Prints Jackson: Calliope Fuxwar

UK pop artist Prints Jackson's new single Calliope Fuxwar, episode 25 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. After last months rather disappointing track Ambisinister he needed to recuperate and this densely produced song is indeed a return to form. The harsh vocals give the loud synths a run for their money. Back to basics, just like the doctor ordered.

Calliope Fuxwar is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Ambisinister.

February 10, 2016

Prints Jackson: Ambisinister

Duds are a part of every musicians output. UK pop artist Prints Jackson's new single Ambisinister, episode 24 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, contains some ill-advised use of autotune and run-off-the-mill rocktronica fodder. Sleep deprivation of becoming a young, proud father must have taken its toll. Ambisinister is a love song that shouldn't be heard outside the Print Jackson inner circle. Sit this one out and wait for episode 25.

Ambisinister is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Paris Pines.

January 12, 2016

Prints Jackson: Paris Pines

UK pop artist Prints Jackson's new single Paris Pines, episode 23 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, is a tribute to the City of Light. Terrorists brought death and destruction, but the spirit of the city is unbroken. A bold and defiant guitar solo bring the track to a close.

Paris Pines is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Christmas Mourning.

December 08, 2015

Prints Jackson: Christmas Mourning

UK pop artist Prints Jackson's new single Christmas Mourning, episode 22 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project, is a break-up song. Although it mentions mistletoe and features a choir and chmies by way of keyboards it is first and foremost the tale of a drunk guy who is very sorry that he has pissed off his girlfriend.

Christmas Mourning is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Alexanders Dark Band.

November 09, 2015

Prints Jackson: Alexanders Dark Band

UK pop artist Prints Jackson takes a bow to the Pixies and the Beatles on his new single Alexanders Dark Band, episode 21 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project.

The track is pushed forward by a grumbling, melodic bass line. By changing pace within the song quite a few time Jackson is growing fast as a composer. He dares to take risks and get out of the mold of the basic structure, making it his most ambitious effort to date.

Alexanders Dark Band is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

HCTF review of Saskatchewan.

October 09, 2015

Prints Jackson: Saskatchewan

UK pop artist Prints Jackson juxtaposes melancholic vocals on top of a looping backing track of his new single Saskatchewan, episode 20 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. Folk meets electronics and they become good friends.

HCTF review of Wisdom of Crowds.

September 10, 2015

Prints Jackson: Wisdom of Crowds

UK pop artist Prints Jackson goes for slightly distorted pop for his new single Wisdom of Crowds, episode 19 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. While the video, directed by Mat Whitecross, is a tribute to really cheesy Seventies dance footage the track itself is a fine example of 21st Century social media angst. Something evil is lurking underneath the dance floor and there are no place left to get away from it all.

Wisdom of Crowds is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.

August 12, 2015

Prints Jackson: Le Petit Prints

UK pop artist Prints Jackson keeps it short and sweet with Le Petit Prints, episode 18 of his "one new song each month till the day I die" project. It's a piano ballad with a few flourishes, a dead ringer for a rainy afternoon playlist.

Le Petit Prints is a self-released single. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from his website.
