Watch hard hitting rockers Living Colour play five songs for a NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Did they hold back? Nope.
Setlist:Scott Lipps of Spin Magazine talks with Vernon Reid and Corey Glover about the history of Living Colour in an epsisode of the Lipps Service podcast series. They look back on their breakthrough song Cult of Personality and meeting Mick Jagger when they were the support act for the Rolling Stones in 1989.
Living Colour have put up a stream of another track from their forthcoming new studio album Shade. Program doesn't beat around the bush. It's an angry, politically charged hard rock anthem that will ruffle the feathers of Trump supporters.
It's been eight years since the last Living Colour studio album The Chair in the Doorway. They released the rather splendid cover Who Shot Ya last year, giving The Notorious B.I.G track a much needed dose of hard rock. Anger is always a good thing for the band to get the songwriting juices flowing and now they have released Come On as the first single of their new album Shade (out on September 8 on Megaforce Records).
Watch the new Living Colour video for Who Shot Ya? The Notorious B.I.G cover is the title track from their new EP. They recorded it to express their anger about the recent shootings in the USA.
They will play at the Epcot Int'l Food & Wine Fest in Orlando, before heading out to Europe for a lengthy club tour sharing the stage with Glenn Hughes.

Legendary rock band Living Colour have finished recording their new studio album The Chair In The Doorway. Release date: September 15th.
Living Colour will release their first new studio album in five years entitled The Chair In The Doorway on September 15 via Megaforce Records. The legendary downtown NYC rock band, who exploded out of CBGB’s in the late ’80s, landing all over MTV, the cover of Rolling Stone and stadium stages around the world with their Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum debut album Vivid, are back and “fierce” as ever.Tracks:
Original members Vernon Reid, Corey Glover, Will Calhoun and (since 1993) Doug Wimbish gathered at Sono Studios outside of Prague in The Czech Republic during the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009 to write and record what would become The Chair In The Doorway. The results stretch from the modern soul anthem “Behind The Sun” to the politically-charged, heavy rock of “DecaDance” to the sacred steel blues of “Bless Those.” The artwork for The Chair In The Doorway was compiled from thousands of contest entries by fans from around the world.
A world tour is currently being planned.

Have a camera and a chair? Take a photo in living colour and it might end up on the cover of CD:
Living Colour is compiling new material for their new album entitled "The Chair in the Doorway". The band would like fans, non-fans, and photographers to participate in this process by sumbitting original images conveying their interpretation of "The Chair in the Doorway".
The image could become artwork for the next Living Colour album!
Vernon: "I did a press junket for CollideĆscope with Corey and whenever something was going wrong Corey would always say "the chairin the doorway". It was just one of these things he would say and I looked at him and said 'you know that thing you always say, that's going to be the title of our next album.' I don't know what that means but that's it. What I like about "The Chair In The Doorway" is that it is a concrete image and a very real thing but……Why is there a chair in the doorway? What does it mean? It's completely abstract, while being a contract, a physical manifestation of what it is."

Marianne Faithfull is playing the Paradiso in Amsterdam, December 10. Cool! Wait-a-minute, those creeps (a.k.a. booking agents) are charging € 40.00 for the privilege to attend ...
On the upside: Living Colour charges only half of that hefty sum for their November 1 show.
