Knarsetand: Fantasy

Knarsetand are back with a new EP. Fantasy is an eclectic mix of styles, a party record with a message. Band leader Martijn Holtslag has some harsh words about money grabbing bankers and power hungry politicians in Burn Babylon Down. The two parts of Fantasy (upbeat and chill out) shows their prowess to find ways to arrange a song in radical different ways. They saved the best for last. The EP's closer Dead Men tell no Tales is a stomping musical circus act about revenge.

The Dutch dectet burst upon the scene last year with their debut album My Escape and were the highlight of the summer festival circuit. With this fresh batch of songs they can insert fresh blood into their set.

Knarsetand:
Martijn Holtslag: producer, percussion, dubstep wobbles, synths, vocals
Miou Amadée: vocals
Tom van Sadelhoff: drums
Pim Kokkeler: guitar
Anne-Maarten van Heuvelen: basses
Arjan Houwers: keys, dubstep wobbels, synths
Tom van Sadelhoff: drums
Daniel van Loenen: 1st trombone & horn arrangements
Lorenzo Lorenzoni: 2nd trombone

Knarsetand: My Escape

Dutch dectet Knarsetand have made this year's ultimate Summer album. My Escape mixes drums 'n' bass, techno, trance, latin, gypsy, ska and a few invented on the spot genres. Somehow it all fits. It is a seamless sonic jigsaw puzzle, with the brass section and singer Miou Amadée leading the way.

While most party record fall flat in a home environment My Escape comes howling from the speakers, turning the living room into a sunny, crowded festival ground. Recommended if you like MK Groove Orchestra, DeVotchKa and Mano Negra.
