Jinn Grin: The Answer

Bay Area bass player Doug Stuart (Astronauts etc., California Honeydrops, Bells Atlas) goes by the stage name Jinn Grin for his solo project. His debut EP The Answer offers four bite-sized nuggets of smart electronics with a psychedelic jazz twist. How Many is a track that wil be sampled to death by DJs looking for leftfield pop to brighten up their set.

The Answer is mellow to the max pulled gently forward by relaxed beats and and quirky keyboards. Stuart played all the instruments, with a bit of outside help from Geneva Harrison (snare) and Anton Patzner (violin).

Jinn Grin: The Answer

Bay Area bass player Doug Stuart has been providing the bottom end for Astronauts etc., California Honeydrops and Bells Atlas plus more more jazz combos that he can remember. Somehow he managed to find the time for his solo project Jinn Grin and record a solo EP. The Answer will be released on June 14th. The title track is now streaming on soundcloud.

Stuart played all the instruments, with a bit of outside help from Geneva Harrison (snare) and Anton Patzner (violin). File under eclectic indie pop with tasty beats, beeps and purrs.
