While singer-songwriter Garlen Lo sang about the perks of living in the Big Smoke on his previous single London Girls, he now dreams of living in a cute village with some animals. Country Boy, Country Girl is an idealized, but very endearing take on being in touch with nature. He even considers taking up knitting and learning all the names of the trees, as he watches a cat and dog that are part of his daydreaming getting along swimmingly. The only thing that is missing is a significant other to sing along to this soft-spoken country rocker that has found its way into his indie guitar pop musings.

Garlen Lo: London Girls
London based singer-songwriter Garlen Lo covers the middle ground between the Beach Boys and music hall on his new single London Girls. Things are way less complicated when you speak the same language and have a working knowledge of the culural references that might pop up in a conversation. Who needs a blank stare when you mention Bruce Forsyth or Ruby Murray? "Choose your city, spin this globe // New York, Paris, Tokyo // It doesn’t matter where in this world // There’s nothing like a London girl". The video was shot at Trafalgar Square.

Garlen Lo: Pretty Baby
London based singer-songwriter Garlen Lo unearthed a tune he wrote when he was 17 and very smitten, trying to figure out what it would take to be actually noticed by her. He asks her for some pointers, but all he got was some advice about learning the rules first. What rules? Good question and he still has not figured them out: "Give you the world if you want it, pretty baby Girl, I’m on my knees // What do I have to do if I want to get with you // Could you draw a picture please"

Garlen Lo: I'll Try My Best To Get To You
Is it posssible to feel good about depression? Well, not really, but London based singer-songwriter Garlen Lo comes close on his new single I'll Try My Best To Get To You, sounding chipper against all odds: "And when the mountains block the roads up in your mind // And they’re too heavy to be moved // Grab hold of my arm, I’ll be your dynamite // I’ll try my best to get to you".
If anything this song might cheer you up a bit on a bad day, with a toe-tapping dose of brass thrown in for good measure.

Garlen Lo: Sentimental Guy
London based singer-songwriter Garlen Lo went through a huge stack of photos documenting his life until now for his Sentimental Guy single. He ended up with a tongue-in-cheek track for his mild version of a midlife crisis.
Reflecting on one's past never hurts, if only to reappraise the fun times that were had. People don't reach for the camera when things have taken a turn for the worse. Take note of the simple yet highly effective tinkling keyboards.

Garlen Lo: London, Tell Me Why
London based singer-songwriter Garlen Lo had the audacity to write a sequel to the Kinks classic Waterloo Sunset, wondering if the lovers Terry and Julie lived happily ever after (spoiler: nope). He plays softly, using an acoustic guitar, basic percussion. some noises from the big city, as well as acting as his own backing vocalist. And yes, there are a few familiar notes in there as well. It was gamble, but it is a winner.

Garlen Lo: Captain Elon
London based off-kilter one-man band Garlen Lo makes fun of the guy who was the richest man on the planet on their debut single Captain Elon, urging him to reach for the stars and save all of humanity. Considering his far below average sense of humour he might actually enjoy it as a serenade of sorts: "So Elon, Elon, won’t you save us from ourselves // Elon, Elon, cause we ain’t got no one else // With your technology, your vision, and your wealth // You could save us all".
