Dutch indie band Cape Sleep will be playing at the Sally Family Festival in Utrecht on October 17, sharing the bill with This Beautiful Mess (who celebrate the 25ht anniversary of their Falling On Deaf Ears album) and Ponoka & Mensenkinderen.

Dutch harpist Remy van Kesteren will be playing a show with indie band Cape Sleep @ Zonnehuis in Amsterdam on December 6. They released a collaborative single, Closing Time, last year.
Dutch retro-pop act Donna Blue will end their club tour in The Netherlands on October 30 in The Hague, sharing the bill with label mates Cape Sleep. Spain is next to promote their latest album Into the Realm of Love: "(...) carefully crafted love songs that could have been released in the mid-sixties when psychedelic rock took off. (...) At first it may seem that Into the Realm of Love offers more of the same, but by going in at the deep end, they have come up with so many gems that a listener may have missed a few the first time around. It is a slow burn that leaves no blisters, offering plenty of food for thought instead."
Dutch harpist Remy van Kesteren wrote the music for Closing Time in 2019, but he felt that something was missing. Kim Janssen (Cape Sleep) helped him out writing the lyrics and handling the vocals and they performed live in 2022, but now all the dots are connected with the cellos of the Metropole Orchestra and backing vocals by singer Tessa Douwstra. When a track has been on the backburner for so long, overthinking and overproducing are not uncommon, but it sounds like it was recorded in the round in a single take. Melancholy captured flawlessly by producer Wannes Salomé.

After being a solo artist for a couple of years Dutch indie musician Kim Janssen is now feeling comfortable in a band, Cape Sleep. Their debut album Video Days is a collection of short songs about classic themes like heartbreak, trying to connect and the perks of settling down.
As a lyricist Janssen is not afraid to bear his soul, but with a full band having his back the songs get an extra layer of intensity, with Leah Rye and Merit Visser workogn double shifts on backing vocals and creating swirling keyboard textures. Guest musician Remy van Kesteren added his versality on harp, once again proving that this instrument can be used in pop music. The Metropole Orchestra brought their A-game for closing track The Afternoons, which is both a joyous celebration and a melancholic reminiscing.
Cape Sleep is the new name for the band led Dutch indie musician Kim Janssen. Their new single I Want To Be Your Friend is a happy-sad song about the doubts that can creep in when everything appears to be fine and dandy. It has a very danceable backbeat, but the lyrics tell another story. With four band members pitching in for the vocals, they have ample opportunity to add textures and indulge into call-and-response tidbits. Smart pop with an electronic twist that brings a touch of Spring in the midst of Winter.
