English experimental rock band The Fierce & The Dead have released the second single from their forthcoming new studio album Regional Theatre. Shake Hands And Exit is a song that is a bit sneaky. It tells you that everything is cool and froody, before offering a series of prog metal explosions that tell a different story. This is the kind of song that Soundgarden were chasing when they were in their prime: intense, a bit frightening, but irresistible like all things that unsafe or at least unhealthy.
Shake Hands And Exit is a self-released single. Buy it from their website. Regional Theatre is available for pre-order here in a wealth of formats and configurations (various vinyl colours, CD, bonus CD with "Purist Mixes & Other Stories", play script, T-shirt, etc.). Release date: September 11.
