Anglo-Greco-Persian singer Lexytron can never write a simple love song, because his sardonic wit gets in the way. That is a good thing, because songs about happy couples are fucking boring. On the tracks on her Something New album, she picks at scabs, points out flaws and the crossed wires during those "we have to talk" moments. Every Little Thing is special in this case, but that is because everything is fine in the early days of a relationship.
Her knack for writing upbeat sounding pop songs, plus her training as a classical violinist, enables her catchy melodies that are actually quite complex, with the orchestrated Your Love and Is It Because? as the prime examples of her craft. She reached out to fellow vocalists from all to add an extra layer of empowerment, with each of them bringing their A-game to turn a song into a dancefloor filler.
