Chicago avant jazz trio Hanging Hearts have released In the Garden, another track from their forthcoming Where's Your Head album. This one has "late night" written all over it, with Cole De Genova's synth bass channeling the sound of car tires, sometimes rumbling and sometimes squealing, the latter in tandem with Chris Weller's saxophone. Quin Kirchner acts like the traffic warden, gently steering the others back to landing on the theme after taking a short but sweet solo.
Hanging Hearts:
Chris Weller: tenor & bass saxophones
Cole De Genova: keys, synth, synth bass
Quin Kirchner: drums, percussion
Where's Your Head is available for preorder here.
Live dates:- 06/21 Vancouver, BC @ Vancouver International Jazz Festival
- 06/29 Dorval, QC @ Festival International de Jazz de Montreal - Pub Molson
