Jupe Jupe: Midnight Waits for No One

Seattle based quartet Jupe Jupe embarked on a tightrope walk on their debut album Midnight Waits for No One, choosing the middle between 80s synth pop and dark wave, with a topping of Roxy Music-alike saxophone. Tracks like Open Door, Secondhand Star and A Picture of Us will surely find their way to nostalgia playlists, but don't sleep on the deeper cuts. The slow One Night Outside and the fast-paced Horrorshow are both playing the long game, and will make an impression that will last longer.

With four members with plenty of mileage in the entertainment business, it is no wonder that the sound is carefully balanced and the dynamics are old school: the music has ample opportunity to breathe. As long as they keep travelling on other roads besides the highways, Jupe Jupe is definitely a band to watch.

Jupe Jupe:
My Young: vocals and synths
Bryan Manzo: guitar, bass, saxophone
Patrick Partington: guitar
Jarrod Arbini: drums and percussion
