Eggs on Mars: Warm Breakfast

Eggs on Mars: Warm Breakfast

Glorious psych pop is alive and well in Kansas City, Missouri. Eggs on Mars aim high with their new album Warm Breakfast, with multi-layered vocals of the Beach Boys variety. Obviously they did not have the budget to work out all the kinks, and lead singer Brad Smith is no Carl Wilson, but as a collection of melancholic musings they leave most of the current competition way behind.

The washes of guitar and keyboards are flowing like a multi-coloured tapestry. And while most the songs are about dealing with mishaps and longing for being anywhere but here (All's Well Elsewhere), they have found a way to make the best of it. Never Change serves as a proud statement that they are on the right track, no matter what.

Eggs on Mars:
Brad Smith: guitar, lead vocals, keys
Mason Potter: drums, percussion, backing vocals
Doug Bybee: bass, keys, backing vocals
Joel Stratton: keys, backing vocals
