Pete Mills is struggling with his inner demons on Darkness, the title track from the latest album by his one-man post-punk project The Sweet Kills, using all the trappings from bands like The Sisters of Mercy and The Cure. He paints with broad strokes for this Gothic anthem. For the video director James Mitchell made him wear a straitjacket as he is been haunted by figments of his imagination in the shape of black panther and dancers dressed from head to toe in black vinyl. The lure of sex and violence has him struggling to get free.
