Bad Milk Dirty Peaches: Keesho Bird

Bad Milk Dirty Peaches

Louisville, Kentucky based Caleb Cook explores the outer regions of triphop and synth loops on Keesho Bird, the debut album by his one-man project Bad Milk Dirty Peaches. It is a collection of short soundscapes, created during the early days of the pandemic when the country grounded to a halt and he got trapped in Florida. To make matters worse: his hometown exploded after the local police shot Breonna Taylor.

Cook used his music as a means to channel his fears and uncertainties. Most of the tracks are really short. He wisely decided that there is no point to keep them going when he felt they had run their course in two minutes or less The lo-fi, beat-driven, instrumental excursions have plenty to offer to both avant-garde and left-field hip-hop fans. He can conjure up a mental picture with just a few notes, using sparse electronic effects to provide the rhythm. Recommended if you like Jumble Hole Clough.
