Ghosts: Boo!

Post-punk quartet Ghosts are four expats living in South-Korea. Not a guitar in sight on their Boo! - it's drums, bass and two vocalists. Plenty of energy, good intentions, but they need quite a bit work to turn their ideas into sounding as good as their ideas. Singing out-of-key get in the away of the enjoyment that is brought by the instrumentalists. The members of Ghosts are good friends, but good friends should not be afraid to call each other out when one of them fucks up. Good punk deserves to sound good.

Unlike the candy-coloured K-pop stars they are not afraid to point their fingers at things like male oppression. Baekma means “white horse”, a slang term for foreign prostitute. Drunk misbehavior does not end well in Alcohol Sunshine. Ghosts have potential, but they need an engineer who can help to become a band that is firing on all cylinders.

Boo! is a self-released EP (cassette, digital). Buy it from their website.

Tracks:
  1. Baekma
  2. Alcohol Sunshine
  3. The Morning Rises
  4. Are Running (Again)
