The Jauntee

Ssooooo... are they still kids dreaming of becoming the next big thing in the jam band scene? The Jauntee hail from Boston, MA, and name a long list of musical styles as their source of inspiration. Best described as a progressive, ambient, jazz band dabbling in funk and fun, the quartet recently secured a spot on a forthcoming Relix CD sampler. This being a jam band, they cover a few crowd pleasing Phish, The Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa tunes, but their own songs have enough meat to feed an audience with an open mind and ear.

The Jauntee thrives on improvisation and bass player Salvatore Sisti has developed a bond wiht drummer Scott Ferber, drawing on a meandering musical canvas for Caton Sollenberger (guitar) and Anthony Cerullo (keyboards). Bear in mind that these guys have been gigging around their hometown since 2010. Regularly dropping new originals and covers they can now play the required two set shows that are an integral part of the jam band phenomenon. The vocals need a bit of work, but that's no biggie - after struggling the lyrics within the first minutes of the song they are off to explore territories they haven´t visited yet.

No studio recordings, but there's plenty of free live stuff on archive.org/details/TheJauntee.

Live dates:
  • 11/05 Beverly, MA @ Spotlight Tavern
  • 11/15 Boston, MA @ Church of Boston
