The Spores: Doom Pop

The Spores: Doom Pop

The Spores were an experimental rock band from California who called it quits in 2008. After trying to get a break for five years the band gave up, flogging around second album Doom Pop for more than a year. Is that a bad thing? Not really. Despite all their bragging about a creating a new sound they were a just about average band who invested a lot of time into their stage presence, while they had been better off it they had focused on the music.

Sounding like the poor man's Sonic Youth in their melodic guise or German electro-pop band Propaganda, Doom Pop has its moments, but not enough to claim even a cult status.

Doom Pop is released on Sidecho Records.
