John Cale was interviewed by Andrew Pemberton for an article in Q magazine (out October 1st). Pemberton posted an excerpt on his blog MusicToob. About Cale's first meeting with the Stooges:
When I first went out to their house in Michigan to meet Iggy and the Stooges, I was really hungry and so I opened the icebox and it was full of beer. Nothing else. I picked up a lap steel guitar and all the strings were tuned to one note. I said, What do you do with that? Iggy says, I sit up all night and play it. [Adopts thick Welsh accent] There’s something wrong ‘ere and it’s good!
