Belgian American multi-instrumentalist Trixie Whitley appears to be suffering form a mild case of horror vacui on het new album Lacuna, filling every available space with sounds, effects. Add her musical diversity - soul, jazz, rock, pop and electronica - and changes that she would have ended up with an undecipherable mess.
Truth be told that it does get a bit crowded at times, when she adds yet another layer. And another. And another. Persist and Lacuna shows itself as multifaceted art rock extravaganza, about halfway PJ Harvey and Björk.
