English indie pop band The Primitives take their special kind of upbeat New Wave on the road again. Last year's single I Won't Care and it's B-side Everybody Needs Somebody to Hate will surely get an outing.

English indie pop band The Primitives will release their new single I Won't Care on May 17th. It is quite fuzzy, which makes for a nice contrast for vocalist Tracy's relaxed delivery. Guitarist Paul Court handles the vocals on the B-side, Everybody Needs Somebody to Hate, with guitar and percussion straight from the Buddy Holly playbook.
English indie pop band The Primitives have dug out the first ever video they made: a promo clip for their Really Stupid single in 1986.
An expanded EP version of their Don't Know Where to Start single will be released on on January 20th via Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records (limited pink vinyl in a silkscreen cover, black vinyl, digital). The band hits the road in May 2023 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their debut album Lovely by performing it in full in May next year.
English indie pop band The Primitives re-entered the scene in 2009, after quite a bit of success with their jangling guitar songs and lead singer's Tracy Tracy bubblegum vocals. They have released two full albums since then, plus a couple of well-received EPs.
A limited run (300 copies) of their Don't Know Where to Start single, their first new music in 5 years, quickly sold out, but the song and its B-side Till I'm Alive will be included on the expanded EP version, due for release on January 20th via Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. The extra track are a live versions of their Reparata and the Delrons cover Panic and an "acoustic fuzzed version" of the title track.
English quartet The Primitives. released a slew of catchy singles and rather good albums that got them mainstream recognition. With their blend of Sixties bubblegum pop, garage rock, punk and new Wave their short and mostly upbeat songs were embrace by the indie lovers lovers and hit parade followers. Their glory days are now collected on an extensive 5CD box set. Bloom! The Full Story 1985-1992 features all their albums and singles, B-sides, demos, outtakes, BBC sessions and a bunch of songs recorded during a concert at Bath Moles.
In 2012 Belle And Sebastian covered The Primitives' punk pop track Crash for Late Night Tales. Considerably slower than the original it was released on Vol 2 of the program's compilation albums. The animated clip was made by Stephen Tolfrey.
