Flower Show: A Cake In A Daydream

Liverpudlian queer six-piece indie band Flower Show play what they themselves "charity shop pop" on their new album A Cake In A Daydream, which is kind of accurate when you incorporate art rock, glam, New Wave, and a bit of vaudeville. They poke fun at the dating game (Jimmy From LinkedIn), job interviews (I Want To Hold Your Man) and lack of fashion sense (The Morning Horn). The darker bits are covered as well with a slow zingers like The Only Way Is Down and the strings driven rockers Size Queen and Lorraine.

The band's songwriter and vocalist Craig Sinclair clearly has a vision where he wants the band to go: start with the heyday of early 70s Sparks and Roxy Music and let emotions roam freely. Add the wordplay of fellow crooner Ward White and presto: a stylish album that fits like bespoke wardrobe.

Flower Show: I Want To Hold Your Man

Liverpudlian queer six-piece indie band Flower Show have unveiled a video for their new baroque pop song I Want To Hold Your Man. It is set in an non-descript office, with a bunch of singers and dancers trying to make an impression on a plain commitee to hire them. The track is a bit over the top, but with the serious message as well to take people at face value. It is the lead single for their new album A Cake In A Daydream, due for release on September 4.

Liverpudlian queer six-piece indie band Flower Show are trying to have a good time against all odds. On their Painted Nails & Silver Bells album the people they write about go through quite a few bad patches - getting drunk is on the bottom of the list - while having a good laugh.

Love is found, love is lost, but as long as their a couple of friends around who will have your back no matter what, it is all good. Their infectious blend of Northern soul, a bit of ska, and lead singer Craig Sinclair's soft spot for crooning, make this album that can be played as a whole, without people leaving the dance floor. Or maybe just for a quick dash to the bar to get a refill.

Flower Show: Bags For Life

Liverpudlian queer six-piece indie band Flower Show have written Bags For Life, an anthem for the downtrodden and impoverished. If Pulp had ever decided to do a sea shanty, it might have sounded like this, optimistic against all odds, and it has audience particapation written all over it. It is the first single from their debut album Painted Nails & Silver Bells, due for release on May 2nd. The accompanying promo clip was directed by lead singer Craig Sinclair.
