Synth post-punk band Autogramm's new single Randy b/w Jenny’s In A Sleep World (a cover of Canadian punk band The Diodes) is a double whammy, showcasing the band's love for melodic New Wave brushing shoulders with power pop. It is released as a 7" (red vinyl) via Goodwill Records (Europe) and Dirt Cult Records (USA).
Synth post-punk band Autogramm's new single Diana b/w Licht Aus (a cover of German band Nichts) will be available on 7" via Beluga Records on February 19. The quartet is very much in love with the Eigthies, adamant about keeping the keyboards-driven danceable New Wave sound alive. They will be on tour in Europe in March, playing shows iin The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany.
Synth post-punk band Autogramm have unveiled a video for Plastic Punx, a track from their forthcoming new album Music That Humans Can Play. It is a sunny side up, energetic lament about kids not caring about rock 'n' roll anymore. Changes are that they won't be singing along to it. Like George Bernard Shaw remarked: youth is wasted on the young. Play loud. The clip was directed by Jeffry Lee.

Synth post-punk trio Autogramm have made a video for Too Loud, a track from their No Rules album. It is mini-mockumentary of the band memert trying to make it in time for an appointment with Richard Branson, who threatens to drop them from his label. The clip was inspried by a skit that was aired on the comedy program SCTV. A nice send up of the yacht rock scene.

Synth post-punk trio Autogramm are dancing on a volcano on their new album No Rules, a collection of upbeat Dystopian floorfillers. Feeling good about feeling down is hard thing to do, but they pull it off with old school keyboards, vintage vocal effects and drum machines. They can play it really fast when they want to (Bad Day and Too Loud). Naming all their influences will require quite some digging and head-scratching - is that a Hall and Oates bit? There are easy ones as well. The Kim Deal-alike bass part as the foundation Fuck Fast Fashion is a nice touch.
Sure, they have many a concern about the current state of affairs - it shows rather prominently in the lyrics of Anxiety and I am a Situation, but they are dead set to find a silver lining. What's not to like about as song like Jody is a Cop, a chance meeting between the Ramones meet Devo that really rips. They are a band that think outside the box, cooking up a heady mix of genres with reckless abandon.

Synth post-punk trio Autogramm followed the Billy Joel video for Sometimes a Fantasy shot by shot for the promo clip for the lead single of their second album, No Rules. It is a fast track that might revive slam dancing - they provide a breather bit two-thirds in - and the thick German accent is quite endearing.

Synth power pop with a side-order of punk is the recipe followed by trio Autogramm, a band consisting of three veterans who wil probably be rocking until they die. Jiffy Marx (Brooklyn’s Hard Drugs and Vancouver’s Blood Meridian, CC Voltage (Berlin’s Dysnea Boys, London’s Loyalties and Vancouver’s Black Halos and Spitfires), and The Silo (Vancouver’s Black Mountain, Lightning Dust and Destroyer) have a new single out to celebrate their upcoming European tour.
Bad Day is an upbeat song about feeling down, an energetic tune that can start a mosh-pit. The b-side is a cover of the Ramones classic I Wanna Be Sedated, sung in Spanish - the 7" version is released via Spanish label Jarama 45RPM Records (blue - 100 copies - and black vinyl - 200 copies). They slowed down the tape at the end to force the fade-out, a cost-effective trick that never gets old.
