Brighton indie band M. Woodroe speak out about people who keep mum about the rise of fascism in their hometown on their new single Carte Blanche. It starts out as a dreamy pop song - the intro last more than a minute - before it gets loud, then louder and truly pissed off, before going back to a subdued coda. Singer Marcie Garwell was one of the driving forces behind Carnival Against Fascism, a movement that quickly gained traction in the build-up to a march in June this year.
Carte Blanche is released via Venn Records . It is a track from their debut EP The Treatment of Fractures, which will be available on September 18. The video was made by J Taylor-Jones.
