Winged Wheel: I See Poseurs Every Day

photo: Katy McElroy

American experimental indie band Winged Wheel started out as a one-off improv supergroup of sorts, but grew into a serious project. I See Poseurs Every Day, a track from their forthcoming third album Desert So Green, is a bit more structured than the abstract Krautrock elements that were a huge part of their sound, but it will likely be expanded beyond recognition on their first European tour. Whitney Johnson (Matchess, Circuit des Yeux), Cory Plump (Spray Paint), Matthew J. Rolin (Powers/Rolin Duo), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), Lonnie Slack (Water Damage), and Fred Thomas (Idle Ray, Tyvek) love to jam and surprise themselves and their audience alike.

Desert So Green is released via 12XU (vinyl, digital). Release date: January 9.
