Welsh musician Richard Thomas collected a bunch of loose sounding instrumentals to fill out the running order for the new EP Across The Pond by his Mint Biscuit project. The collection kicks off with two proper songs, wherein Thomas shows some trepidation while handling the vocals, but also getting more confident after a bit.
The instrumentals are a mixed bag - some of them are merely sketches, only showing the contours of an idea, but they will strike a chord by anyone who has ever picked up a guitar and trying to get something interesting out of it. Thomas is working on a new album, so changes are that some of these work-in-progress versions will transform into tracks that live up to their cool titles.
