Singer and guitarist Scott Collins is in bad place emotionally - heartbreak is a bitch - so he went to his safe space and turned his anger and grief (and a bit of pleading) into an intense Americana album, Capistrano Beach. His voice is on the verge of breaking and straying off pitch, while he plays up a storm on his acoustic guitar, a friend he always can rely on.
Behind all the glitter of his hometown Nashville, he is trying to cope with everyday hassles that keep him awake at night. Drink might numb the pain a bit, while dreaming about that sunny place in California after which the album was named. Collins is really raw in this one and the songs are going straight to the gut. Being a rocker does not always require to plug in and be part of a full band. He reinvented himself as a one-man army. He needed to fight this fight on his own for once.
Capistrano Beach is a self-released album (vinyl, digital). Buy it from his website.
