Way back in 1984 four young English hopefuls started a band called Tarot, enjoying a bit of success on the live circuit before calling it quits. Fast forward to January 2025 and the original line-up (Mcinnes, Snelso , Hills & Benfield) reconnected. They revisited some songs from the good old days, which sparked the interest to write some new stuff as well. A full album will see the light of day in January and if lead single Seppuku is an indication of what's in store for that, it is a release to look forward to.
The song deals with the Japanese word for the ritualistic suicide, in this case of a Japanese princess. Build upon the rock solid foundation of crystal clear guitar, lead singer Mcinness paints a picture of her predicament, as the band falls into step to create a towering classic rock song, with a whispering coda to announce the silence that comes after the deed has been done.
Seppuku is a self-released single. Buy it from their website.
