English singer-songwriter Lucy Kitchen aimed at recording an old school 60s-tinged folk song and she passed with flying colours. The Boatman is about grief and death - her husband passed away in October 2022 - but there is also a bit of deviance in there, while she was trying to pick herself up and start creating again. The warm sound of Pat Kenneally's hammond organ acts like comfy blanket.
