Scottish sisters Eva and Grace Tedeschi hit the ground running with their debut album. They named themselves The Cords and their retro-jangling vibe is a summation of the sound of all those guitar-driven indie bands that are being championed by the knowledgeable staff of record stores.
Upbeat and highly infectious, they sing about relationships hassles, the beauty of Autumn, lovable liars, and hairstyles that were not a particularly good idea. Writing a memorable pop song is actually quite harder than it may seem. The sisters have nailed it without fail. Add their on point harmonizing as part of the equation and the end result is an album that sounds fresh and familiar at the same time.
The Cords is released via Skepwax (UK) and slumberland records (US). Baby blue vinyl, CD, digital.
