Pretty Windows: Is This Normal Behaviour?

Nottingham based electro post-punk duo Pretty Windows went back to the dark side of 80s alternative rock for their debut album Is This Normal Behaviour?, picking up a few trinkets from the decades that came after along the way. It sounds quite dense, but it is structured with utmost care. They stacked layer upon layer, but there just enough room between them to allow the elements to breathe.

Is This Normal Behaviour? is a late night album, especially for rainy nights when it is time to question one's life choices, but also contemplating dancing the night away, all dressed in black. Smart move to mention Robin Hood in the opening track Zimmerman Standing. It must be really tiresome that people bring will him up without fail once they learn where you from. So better get it out the way from the off, before serving up bangers like Twelve Pink Plectrums and Queen Punk Rock. Recommended if you like Echo and the Bunnymen, and Gang of Four.
