Dutch post-rock quartet ništa are all about tension and release on their self-titled debut EP. With four longish, meandering tracks they have constructed a world of their own, a safe space of sorts to deal with strong emotions resulting in a mesmerizing play of light and shade.
By combining elements of progressive rock, shoegaze and stoner metal, they have erected a wall of sound that shows different colours during each play. Singer Ismena puts her folk leanings to good use as she rides the wave of intertwined soaring guitars, with the rhythm section acting a shifting foundation that never falls apart.
