Canadian blues band The History of Gunpowder set up shop in the Weird Church in Cumberland, BC last year to film and record the creation of their new album. The full movie is titled Swallows and will debut on the big screen at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver on September 1st, 2023. As a first taste they have unleashed an intense version of The Epilectic.
Lead singer's Alex gruff yet heartfelt vocal delivery will be embraced by fans of Mark Lanegan, as he leads the band through a landscape littered with elements of vaudeville, blues and a hint of jazz. Roots music at its finest, captured by a crew that spends months of carefully editing the footage without losing the spontaneity of the fly-on-the-wall approach.
